What can I request financial assistance for?
At Jenny’s Gift, we consider the following requests for financial assistance:
Utility Bill: Electric, Internet/Cable, Garbage, Water
Rent/Mortgage Payment: Past Due, Security Deposit
Transportation Expense: Fuel, License, Maintenance/Repairs, Plates/Registration, Bus Pass
One Time Purchase of Personal/Family Related Item(s): TBD/Submit your request
How much financial assistance can I request? Is financial assistance guaranteed by Jenny’s Gift?
Jenny’s Gift does not guarantee it can provide financial assistance of any amount. Our organization is primarily self-funded by it’s founder and a small cadre of generous donors, so providing financial assistance is based on the amount of money available at the time of a request and/or our ability to raise additional funding. Jenny’s Gift may, based on available funding, provide a portion of the financial assistance requested. We will notify you if Jenny’s Gift does not have sufficient funding in place at the time of your request.
How is financial assistance provided by Jenny’s Gift?
UTILITY BILL + RENT/MORTGAGE PAYMENT + TRANSPORTATION EXPENSE
Jenny’s Gift does not guarantee the payment of your rent/mortgage, utility bill or transportation related expense. If financial assistance is requested to cover the cost of your your rent/mortgage, utility bill or transportation related expense, Jenny’s Gift will attempt to submit payment in full. We will notify you if Jenny’s Gift does not have sufficient funding in place at the time of your request.
Jenny’s Gift will submit as payment, all or a portion of the amount requested directly, either electronically or by check, to a third-party on behalf of the individual requesting assistance.
If Jenny’s Gift cannot submit payment to a third-party directly, a certified check addressed to the third party, will be sent to the mailing address of the person requesting assistance via the U.S. Postal Service. Delivery will take between 3-4 days.
ONE-TIME PURCHASE OF PERSONAL ITEM(S)
Jenny’s Gift does not guarantee you will be able to make a one-time purchase of personal item(s) for yourself or your family by submitting a request for financial assistance. If financial assistance is requested for a one-time purchase of a personal item(s) for yourself or your family, Jenny’s Gift will attempt to provide assistance in full. However, if Jenny’s Gift does not have sufficient funding in place at the time of your request to submit payment in full, Jenny’s Gift will notify you. If possible, Jenny’s Gift will attempt to submit a portion of the amount necessary.
By Zelle: Jenny’s Gift can transfer funds directly via Zelle. Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way to send money in minutes to your friends and family. Look for it in your banking app, in the Google Play Store or App Store.
By Check: Jenny’s Gift will mail a certified check to the mailing address of the person requesting assistance via the U.S. Postal Service. Delivery will take between 3-4 days.
If Jenny’s Gift cannot mail a certified check to the person requesting assistance, alternative means of delivering financial assistance may be considered.

How does Reciprocitree decide who receives financial assistance?
For those who complete and submit a Financial Assistance Request Form, it’s first come, first served.
GIFT OF SERVICE
What is the “Gift of Service”?
At Jenny’s Gift, we believe in the Gift of Service, which we define as doing something that you will not directly benefit from but does improve the life or circumstances of another (or others), as the result of your act(s). It can be something small and immediate, like helping a family member or friend today, or something grand and long-term, like becoming a volunteer for a local nonprofit organization tomorrow. Beyond that, the what and when is for you to decide.
If you have received financial assistance from Jenny’s Gift, you must give the Gift of Service before a second request for assistance may be considered. Fulfillment of this commitment must be verified by a member of our staff.
